Visual Artist
From a young age I have loved to draw and paint but it wasn’t until I moved to Brisbane in the late 70’s that I engaged in formal art education at Queensland College of Art (Commercial Illustration) and then further study a few years later (Interior Design) also at QCA. From there I attained a Graduate Diploma (Arts Administration) at Queensland University of Technology and subsequently worked in the arts industry in both Brisbane and Canberra. These days I am immersed in creating lifelike, detailed pet portraits in soft pastel and am kept busy with regular commissions. Presenting finished portraits to clients is such a rewarding happy event. Alongside these works I like to create artworks of assorted subjects in soft pastel, acrylic and charcoal, usually in a realistic style but sometimes with a touch of abstract realism.
